Updated Linux InstallFest Thursday, October 8th

Want to learn more about Linux? Need a little help installing it? Bring your PC or Laptop and get started. We will have RedHat, Debian, Slackware, and Gentoo available, as well as several *BSD variants. We will also of course have monitors keyboards and mice laying around. This is the perfect way to do some of your operating systems assignments at home. We'll be starting at12pm in 5N - 106, see you there.

Updated Revolution OS Thursday September 25, 1:30 1P Lecture Hall and

We will be screening Revolution OS. A documentary that details the Open Source Movements from its inception in the early 80's to the rampaging success that Free Software currently enjoys. The movie has interviews with Open Source leaders Richard Stallman, Bruce Perens, Linus Torvalds, Eric Raymond and many others.
we'll be showing the movie in the 1P Lecture Hall at 1:30 and 7:00 in the Green Dolphin Lounge Thursday, September 25. Refreshments will follow both screenings.

The PC EXPO is here, and of course we are going. Registration can be done at www.techxny.com Of course your friendly officers have managed to get a good deal on the tickets so go ahead and read your email for more details on how to get free registration. If you don't get email from us drop by the office (4N 205) and we'll happily give it to you.

JULY 12-13, 2003 ROBOT ART SHOW

Robots that create art... we shall leave it to their press release to describethis event.
Info on the participants in the Second Annual International ArtBots: The Robot Talent Show, to be held in New York this July, is now online. and there's lots of fun geek/tech/art candy. Participants include robots that draw, sculpt, and play musical instruments, as well as many with talents that are a bit harder to pin down."

This is during the summer, so its not an official event, no sign up sheets, noattendance, just fun. If anyone wants to coordinate times email us at computerClub@si.rr.com

It's not during club hours, but this will be one of the best events of the semester. Python is a pure object oriented language that is extraordinarily versatile and powerful. Professor Altmueller uses Python on a daily basis, and will be introducing us to this language.

Linux Demo:
We have postponed our Linux demos until after spring break. This allows our presenters a little more time to prepare their presentations. As well as giving us more time for the presentations themselves. The dates are May 1st, 2nd, 7th, and 8th, times and room numbers will be forthcoming.
