Simulation of Brain Dynamics via Spiking Neurons Project Goals The goal of this research is to modify the I&F, to propose a Spiking Neural Simulator and to perform experiments based on these modifications. The new spiking neural topology will possess much more flexibility comparing to the simulators proposed in the literature so far, with a friendly GUI and high-level of visualization of synaptic layers and connections between them. We will be able not only to set various Neuron Properties in order to study how these properties and their combinations affect the overall size, shape, and number of neuron spikes but also to add additional excitatory (inhibitory) cells to different layers. The main target of the simulations will be altering the weight and delay factors of the synapses as well as changing the structure of the connections between the layers and the parameters of the NN. The simulation parameters will be chosen to be close to those used by medical researchers in order to compare the results of our simulations with those publishes in the literature. |
