HOMEWORK 3

I. In 1-2 type written double spaced pages answer the following questions:

a. Why did you choose this particular article?

b. Summarize the article.

c. Can you think of any problems/future directions of research in this area? What would you like to see accomplished in research in this area over the next few years? If this question does not fit the article that you chose, explain why.

II. You do not have to hand anything in to me for this part, except a list of the web sites that you have looked at. Here is a pointer to a simple PROLOG tutorial:

We do not have time to cover much of PROLOG in class, but I would like you to read over a bit of this tutorial. It is worth waiting until after class on Wed, when I will introduce some of these concepts. Search the web for the JUG problem (that we had in homework 1) in PROLOG. I would like you to get a feeling of how PROLOG is different and how it is similar to the languages that you know.

III. AIMA: Chapter 8: 8.6 b,e,h, 8.15 Chapter 9: 9.4 (There are many other interesting examples at the end of these chapters, so browse them if you wish…..)
