Research:

My research explores the use of background text to aid classification using semi-supervised approaches, combining labeled and unlabeled data in various ways.

I joined the faculty of the department of Computer Science of CSI in September 2002.

I received my PhD from Rutgers University in 2002 for my dissertation Using Background Knowledge to Improve Text Classification  (available upon request). My advisor was Dr. Haym Hirsh who was also head of the Rutgers Machine Learning Research Group, of which I was a member.
